Had an unsettling dream the other night
I was in a house of rotting wood
surrounded by every toy from my childhood
piled on tabletops, scattered about the floor
every corner of the room another slice of nostalgia
I remembered everything
long since lost, broken, and forgotten
how did it all get here?

What is someone trying to say to me
sending this dream this way to me?
I haven't even thought of these things in decades
could it still mean something for today?

I remember we called it "Susie"
the old See n Say with the stickers ripped off in exactly the same way
the shoelace with the colored tube beads tied to the end
